Restoration of the village
During the twentieth century, the medieval village of Torri Superiore was gradually abandoned by all the inhabitants, falling prey to degradation and slowly transforming into a ghost village.
Its beautiful stone towers, the inner courtyards, the connecting staircases and the agricultural terraces gradually went deserted and ruined.
At the beginning of the years ‘ 90 The cultural association Torri Superiore began negotiations for the purchase of houses from a huge number of owners, through a tiring and endless work of cadastral research, and laborious negotiations. The purpose of the association was to transform the village into an ecovillage, creating on-site residences and resources for a new resident community.
